LEGALIZATIONS
The Colombian Consulate informs that:
- That as of the 30th January 2001 Colombia has subscribed to the Hague Convention.
- That this Convention eliminates consular legalisations for foreign documents intended to be presented in Colombia, as long as they bear the relevant Apostille issued by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
- That, consequently, documents issued or approved by either a Notary Public, or a British Chamber of Commerce, or a Solicitor, or any other person in authority to legalise documents in Great Britain, must further obtain the Apostille issued by the Legalisation Section of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office before sending those to Colombia. No further legalisation by the Colombian Consulate is necessary.
